Hallelujah! I pray that the God of peace will be with you. Your prayers have been a great source of strength for Caleb Mission, and the work of rescuing North Korean escapees and sharing the gospel continues only by God’s grace.
Rescuing North Korean escapees requires significant financial resources. Nevertheless, we continue this ministry because we believe in the immeasurable value of saving even one soul. Like a shepherd searching for one lost sheep, we are committed to rescuing them. However, the situation in China is becoming increasingly difficult. Rising exchange rates are driving costs higher, and many escapees hesitate to flee because they are afraid of the severe punishment they would face if caught.
In the midst of these challenges, I continue to travel throughout the United States and other countries to raise awareness about the North Korean human rights issue. While there is strong interest and response internationally, support within Korea has been steadily declining due to economic difficulties. Many supporters have had to pause their giving, often saying they hope to give again when their situation improves. This has become an ongoing challenge for our ministry.
Even so, I continue to step out more actively to the nations to share about Caleb Mission. By God’s grace, we have been able to rescue an average of four escapees each month. Recently, we were able to safely rescue six individuals, including two children. However, many challenges still remain as we continue this work.
Looking back, there has not been a single prayer that God has not answered, nor a life He has not saved. We are deeply grateful for His continual guidance and faithfulness over Caleb Mission. Dear friends, prayer is our victory. Your acts of obedience and generosity become a channel through which lives are saved and the gospel is proclaimed.
I was also recently appointed as the presiding leader of the Gyeonggi Eastern Presbytery of the Baekseok denomination. As my first responsibility in this role, I will be traveling to the United States next week with fellow pastors. Please pray that God would lead us to the people He has prepared, and that we may be used as a channel of blessing for rescuing North Korean escapees and advancing the gospel.
This will be a long journey, and I am also facing physical challenges. Ongoing health concerns and the strain of long-distance travel make this difficult. As you know, I have undergone multiple surgeries, and it has been physically very challenging. Even so, I press on with all my strength, believing that this is the mission the Lord has entrusted to me—to save lives. I humbly ask for your prayers.
While I’m away from Korea, it’s been challenging to support the escapees at our North Korean Community Center as they prepare for independent living. Yet, I trust in God. I believe He will bring greater joy and fruit through all of these difficulties. I sincerely hope that you will continue to partner with us in this mission.
On August 20 of this year, we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Caleb Mission’s official national registration. We would be honored to have you join us in this meaningful occasion. Thank you.In Christ’s love and service,Pastor Seungeun Kim❤️Please support the North Korean defectors 🙏🏻
