Hallelujah! I pray that the God of peace will be with each of you. The summer heat has been especially intense these days, and I pray that every member of the Caleb Mission family will remain healthy and safe.

This year marks 27 years since Caleb Mission began its ministry and the 20th anniversary of its official registration as an organization. As we prepare for our anniversary celebration, I have come to the coast of Gunsan, where I spent part of my childhood, to buy fresh seafood for our guests.Being here brings back so many memories. I remember the early days of the ministry, when we departed from Gunsan by boat and traveled as far as the waters near North Korea to rescue North Korean escapees. I am also reminded of the documentary that recorded those events, Crossing Heaven’s Border: Smuggling. Those were times when we experienced God’s guidance even in the midst of violent storms.

As Caleb Mission celebrates the 20th anniversary of its official establishment, countless memories come to mind. Through your faithful prayers, we were able to rescue four more North Korean escapees last week. To date, Caleb Mission has helped 1,072 North Korean escapees reach South Korea.

Above all, every part of this ministry has been possible only through God’s grace and guidance. We are especially grateful that the North Korean women who were recently rescued are growing in their faith through gospel-centered discipleship training at our ministry center in Southeast Asia.

The missionaries responsible for discipleship training in the field, our ministry workers, and all of you have worked together as one body. I firmly believe that your prayers have saved lives, shared the Gospel, and been planted as both a catalyst and a grain of wheat for the future mission to North Korea.

Through your continued prayers, I have now served in this ministry for 27 years. If God continues to give me strength, I pray that, just as Caleb in the Bible remained strong at the age of eighty, I may also be given more time to rescue even one more precious life.

Yet my deepest desire is for the day to come when I will no longer need to rescue even one person—the day when our nation is united through the Gospel. I pray that this day will come soon.

Even now, I can hear the desperate cries of North Korean escapees in China pleading to be rescued. Day after day, they contact me and beg for help.

What we must do for them is not only save their physical lives, but also plant within them the seed of the Gospel—a seed that will never fall to the ground in vain. The seeds we plant are not planted merely on earth, but in heaven. Your prayers, dedication, and sacrifice have made this work possible. Once again, I sincerely thank you.

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Caleb Mission’s official establishment, we will hold a special celebration at our community center for North Korean escapees. Please continue to pray with us and remain faithful partners in this ministry. Thank you.
