Hallelujah! I pray that the God of peace will be with each of you. As the heat of summer begins, I pray that showers of Godโs grace will continually refresh your homes and families, and that He will keep each of you healthy and strong throughout the season.
By Godโs faithful guidance, Caleb Mission has been able to carry out many important works over the years. To date, we have helped rescue 1,068 North Korean escapees and supported them on their journey to freedom and a new life in South Korea.
Our mission does not end with rescue. At our Gospel Center in Southeast Asia, North Korean escapees spend three months studying the Bible and receiving discipleship training. During this time, seeds of the gospel are planted in their hearts. When we later see them attending churches and continuing their life of faith in South Korea, we are reminded of how important this ministry is and how deeply it is connected to the future spiritual reunification of the Korean Peninsula.
We confess that God alone has accomplished all these things. At the same time, we are sincerely grateful for your faithful prayers and intercession, which have supported this ministry throughout every step of the journey.
The North Korean escapees receiving discipleship training at our Gospel Center in Southeast Asia are a precious part of the generation that will one day help bring the gospel to a reunified Korea.
August 20 will mark the 27th anniversary of the beginning of Caleb Missionโs ministry and the 20th anniversary of our official registration as an organization. For the first time in Caleb Missionโs history, we are preparing a special 20th-anniversary celebration. We respectfully ask for your interest, prayers, and special support.
We hope to invite many North Korean escapees to celebrate together, share gifts with them, and spend a joyful time giving thanks to God. We ask that you join us in prayer for this meaningful occasion.
Meanwhile, we continue to receive requests to rescue North Korean women who are still hiding in China. Every one of them is a precious soul deeply loved by God, and not one can simply be abandoned. Please continue to pray and intercede for each person who is waiting for freedom.
Godโs grace is also being abundantly revealed in our North Korean refugee community in South Korea. This year, our vineyards, apple trees, and peach trees have produced such an abundant harvest that we are almost overwhelmed by how much fruit there is. We are deeply thankful to God for His generous provision.
These blessings are the fruit of your prayers and of the hard work and dedication of the North Korean escapees in our community. As all these efforts come together, I firmly believe that the day of peaceful and gospel-centered reunification is drawing near.
We will also continue to pray that Godโs abundant grace and blessings will rest upon the families, businesses, and ministries of all those who faithfully pray for and support Caleb Mission. Thank you, and may God bless you.
In Christ's love and service,
Pastor Seungeun Kim
