Caleb Mission Newsletter 💌 The Second Week of September
Hallelujah! I pray that the God of peace will be with each of you. I am currently in the Philippines. Isn’t it God’s will that we reach the nations with the gospel? Although Caleb Mission’s primary focus is serving and rescuing North Korean escapees, the Philippines has a special connection to Korea. During the Korean War, the Philippines was one of the nations that came to South Korea’s aid, sending troops who fought and sacrificed alongside the Korean people.
This program is organized by the presbytery I serve with and brings Filipino and Korean youth together. As the moderator of the presbytery, I came to the Philippines to help lead and prepare for the program. We are hoping to hold a spiritual festival this winter, during the school break, where young people from both countries can come together. Please pray for this gathering and that God would use it to reach and bless many young people in the Philippines.
I also want to share some wonderful news. The North Korean escapees who were recently rescued completed three months of Bible study and discipleship training at our safe house in Southeast Asia, and yesterday they departed for South Korea.
Please pray for God’s protection and guidance as they begin this new chapter of their lives. We shared the gospel with them, and we ask you to continue supporting them through faith and prayer as God helps them grow. During their time at the safe house, they told us that the greatest blessing they received was coming to know Jesus. We believe that God, who planted the seeds of the gospel in their hearts, will continue to make them grow. Please pray that their faith will remain strong and that their hearts for Jesus will not change as they settle into their new lives in South Korea.
There are still many North Korean escapees throughout China who desperately need help. Please continue to intercede with us so that Caleb Mission can rescue them one by one and share the gospel with each person God brings into our care.
The world may often seem dark and difficult, but we believe that in Jesus Christ, God works all things together for good and continues to build His Kingdom. I pray that each of you will continue to be used by God to advance His Kingdom.
Please also pray for my safe return and that God will continue to strengthen and guide me as I carry on this ministry to North Korean escapees. Thank you, and God bless you.
