Hallelujah! I pray that the God of peace will be with each of you.

The intense summer heat continues. Yet just as autumn will surely come after this heat, bringing a season of harvest, we believe that although our ministry to North Korean escapees is facing many difficulties right now, it will surely bear precious fruit.

Even at this very moment, there are women who are in the process of escaping. I sincerely ask you to pray for them. Jesus taught us that one life is more valuable than the whole world. It is an incredibly precious work for these souls to be rescued through Caleb Mission, receive three months of discipleship training, and then be raised up as the first fruits and future leaders of ministry to North Korea. It may be one of the most valuable works we can ever undertake.

However, there is also much spiritual opposition when we seek to save lives. For this reason, we need even more prayer. Through your faithful prayers on your knees, one life after another is still being saved today.

Last week, I visited the government resettlement center for North Korean escapees and met some of the women we had helped rescue through your prayers and support. They were so happy to see me, and I was deeply grateful to see them. Some have decided to settle in the Cheonan area, join our church family, and begin a new life in South Korea.

Whenever I witness these things, I am overwhelmed with gratitude. These women once did not know God, but now they have heard the gospel, received discipleship training, and desire to come to Cheonan, grow in their faith, and be raised up as leaders for the future ministry to North Korea. Their lives remind us that your prayers and support are never in vain. I believe that God will be glorified through every one of these precious fruits.

At Hanawon, I shared these words with the women:

“Just as you were rescued, there are still North Korean brothers and sisters in China who are living in the same situation you once faced. Please do not forget them. Living faithfully, working hard, and continuing to grow in your faith is a way to glorify God and to honor the love of those who prayed for you and supported you.”

After sharing these words, we ended our time together in prayer.

Please continue to pray that their hearts will remain grateful and that their first love for God will never grow cold. As I mentioned earlier, please also pray earnestly for our North Korean brothers and sisters who are still in the process of escaping.

This summer heat is severe. Serving at the center for North Korean escapees can be physically exhausting and difficult during this season. Nevertheless, we continue our work while looking forward to the fruit that God will bring. We sincerely ask you to continue praying for us and for this ministry.

Each time one precious life is rescued, I believe there is great joy in heaven over that one soul.

1. Heavenly Father, please raise up the rescued North Korean escapees to become seeds and pioneers for future ministry to North Korea. Help them live victoriously through faith and for Your glory.

2. God, please renew the strength of the ministry workers, missionaries, and North Korean escapees at the Southeast Asia center during this hot summer. Bless and guide them in all they do.

3. God, make the center a strong base for preparing for Korea’s reunification through the gospel. Bring the freedom of the gospel to North Korea and hasten the day of reunification.
