Hallelujah! I pray that the God of peace will be with you. As I previously shared, I was installed as the presbytery leader last week, and I am now beginning a pastoral vision trip in the United States. This trip will be with 25 pastors from our presbytery.

The theme of this visit is “A New Spiritual Wind in America”—a journey to seek spiritual renewal and pray for a fresh work of the Holy Spirit. Los Angeles, which we will be visiting, is where the Azusa Street Revival took place. The spiritual fire that began there later influenced the Pyongyang Great Revival, making it a place deeply connected to our people’s spiritual history. As we return to this significant place, we are preparing to go first in humility—kneeling, bowing, and praying—believing that God will once again stir a new spiritual awakening. We sincerely ask for your prayers for this journey.

After completing the 11-day tour, I will remain in the United States for about a month, traveling to teach and speak. I will be visiting cities such as Chicago, Virginia, Los Angeles, Kentucky, and Georgia. Through the churches that have invited me, I hope to share about the living God and the mission to North Korea.

During the time I am away, a group of North Korean women currently hiding in China will begin their escape. While our missionaries on the ground will faithfully continue the work in my absence, they will face increasing police checks and crackdowns from Chinese authorities. Please pray that these women would not be overwhelmed by fear, but instead find peace and fix their eyes on God alone.

In particular, the six North Koreans who arrived last month are beginning to learn about God in a meaningful way. There are always many challenges in rescuing North Korean escapees, but we are continually reminded that God’s grace is present in saving lives and sharing the gospel. Please also pray for our local workers and missionaries, and for the safety of those who are beginning this journey—that they may be guided safely into freedom and the gospel.

At the same time, support within Korea has been decreasing significantly. Due to economic difficulties, many supporters have had to stop giving. As a result, we are increasingly depending on support from the United States and overseas. Yet even the smallest contributions come together to save lives and share the gospel with North Korean escapees.

As the Apostle Paul says in Romans 9:3, expressing his deep heart for his own people, we also ask that you would join us in caring for our people, for North Korean escapees, and for the mission to North Korea. Through your prayers and partnership, we believe lives will be saved, and the gospel will continue to spread.

1. Father God, we pray that the gospel and freedom would come to North Korea, and that those suffering without knowing You would be restored in Your image through Jesus Christ.

2. Lord, we pray that North Korean escapees attempting to escape from China would look to You in the midst of fear and be led safely into freedom.

3. God, we pray that the workers and missionaries would not grow weary, but continue faithfully in saving lives, and that their labor would be rewarded by You.

4. Lord, we pray that this U.S. trip would be carried out safely under Your grace, and that all the ministry and teaching would be accomplished according to Your will.
